Do you have goals related to improving your mental health? Are you interested in using creative arts to gain insight into yourself and your relationships? Do you need support as you work through difficult emotions? Curious about learning how to connect more intentionally with your inner self?
Psychotherapy (AKA therapy AKA professional counseling) is for people who want to develop deeper understanding of self, work through trauma, explore how past experiences impact current functioning, and/or build skills to manage anxiety, depression, and other diagnosed mental health issues.
The way I practice uses tools from a range of counseling and psychology frameworks like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Art Therapy, Queer Theory, and Internal Family Systems.
Therapy sessions with me feel a lot like mindful conversations. We will pay attention to the body sensations, emotions, thoughts, memories, and narratives that come up as we talk.
We will work together to help you make sense of your life experiences and develop healthier, more authentic ways of showing up in the world. We might also crack a few jokes and celebrate the wonderful weirdness of living in this time and place.
To seek reimbursement from insurance, we will need to use a billable behavioral health diagnosis in your records and billing statements. Insurance companies sometimes place limits on the duration of therapy and the length of sessions depending on the diagnosis that is used.Â
Please check with your insurance provider to see if reimbursement is possible.
